Mumbling Mommy

Hi – I’m Katie Parsons and I’d love to help your brand shine.

Since 2007, I’ve worked in online digital media and since 2011, I’ve worked in the space as a freelancer. I have clients across the country in a variety of industries including home improvement, medical equipment, real estate and the entertainment industry.

Before I started freelancing, I worked as a newsroom researcher at the Orlando Sentinel and the Chicago Tribune where I also wrote for the popular Tribune Media blog Moms at Work. I’m the creator of Mumbling Mommy, a blog with over 1,300 posts about all things parenting. I record and broadcast the daily podcast The Morning Four which offers inspirational, uplifting and humorous news to start the day and I also offer podcasting consultation.

I was the community manager for HypeOrlando, a network of 200+ blogs in Central Florida, and helped build and manage the progressive education site The Edvocate for three years. I currently edit media and technology briefs for SmartBrief on behalf of partner organizations like the Interactive Advertising Bureau, the Mobile Marketers Association and the American Advertising Federation.

Here’s a look at some of my latest published clips – references are available upon request.
