Lori Lori is a work-at-home mom of three living in Noblesville, Indiana.

This is a popular time of year for hosting holiday meals or parties, and this awesome hot ham sandwich appetizer recipe is one of my favorites. I know how to make sweet potato casserole with marshmallows and could throw together green bean casserole in my sleep — but I’m always scouring recipe books, hoping to find one that will become a fan favorite. Take a look at this simple and tasty recipe for hot ham sandwich appetizers — they are so good!

Hot Ham Sandwich ingredients

Hot Ham Sandwich Appetizer Recipe Ingredients:

– 12 Hawaiian buns (I chose whole wheat)
– 1 lb. of thinly sliced ham
– 1 package cheddar cheese slices
– 1 stick butter
– 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
– 2 teaspoons mustard
– 1/2 teaspoon onion flakes

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut buns in half. Place ham on one half of bun. Top with a slice of cheese and other half of bun. Place the sandwiches in a 9 x 12-inch baking dish.

Hot ham sandwiches right out of the oven.

Put butter, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and onion flakes in a microwave safe bowl. Cover and heat in microwave for one minute. Stir until blended well. Pour sauce evenly over sandwiches.

Bake sandwiches for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and buns are golden brown.

**I buy a small portion of a ham in the deli meat section instead of buying an entire ham.

I found this recipe in the Just Peachey Bearing Fruit Cookbook and made a few small changes to make it perfect for our family.
